THE FRONT RANGE MAGIC TEAM CHALLENGE

Who: YOU!

Where: The South Metro Denver Realtors Association Building (located on the NE corner of Browdway and Mineral)

When: Saturday, March 21st 2009. Card Sales and Registration begin at 8am, play begins at 10am.

Format: Standard

Cost: $20 per player (Singles Competition), $20 per team of four (Team Competition)


INDIVIDUAL COMPETITION

This is an OPEN Cash Prize Tournament. Anyone can enter - All are welcome to participate in the tournament - no team required. Everyone who enters will be eligible to win their share of cash prizes for Singles Competition which will be awarded to the top finishers at the end of the Swiss rounds!


TEAM COMPETITION

As an added bonus, all players will also have the option of registering as a team of four. Each registered team will be eligible to win their share of cash prizes for Team Competition as well as the Singles Competition. Team points will be added up at the end of the Swiss rounds, and the top TWO teams will face off in a team Draft format of Shards/Shards/Conflux. The winning team will receive the team cash prize, along with the FRM Team Challenge Trophy! The FRM Team Trophy will be on display at the winning team's store of choice!


FEATURED TEAMS

Included within the field of competitors will be FIVE teams who have been selected by Front Range Magic to compete in the contest. Each of these teams will have a Team Captain. Each featured Team Captain will determine which three competitors will represent their respective team at the FrontRangeMagic.com Team Challenge. Selection criteria for these captains will be generally based on the same geographic location as the Captain. (for expample: The Southern Colorado captain will only be able to select players from Castle Rock, Colorado Springs, Pueblo).


The five featured teams are as follows:

Ø Boulder Valley – (Boulder / Lafayette / Superior)

Ø North Side (Ft. Collins / Loveland / Greeley)

Ø Denver Metro

Ø Southern Colorado (Castle Rock / Colorado Springs / Pueblo)

Ø The Old Guard

The "Old Guard" is the X factor team that will be comprised of players who have been active since 1998. The same general geographic rule applies for the team captain of The Old Guard - players will be selected within the team captain's location.

In the event of a teammate conflict, the player in question will have the choice as to what team they will compete with.
